  • Report of 10th JASIC Asia Government-Industry Meeting (Fourth Announcement)
    The titled meeting was convened over a 3-day period from 29 November - 1 December 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this meeting, which was the first round of the 4th Series, each country/territory gave a report on accession to the 1958 Agreement/1998 Agreement, and there were earnest and lively discussions on topics such as the mutual recognition system countries/territories are expected to tackle once they have joined the Agreements and how member countries/territories should be cooperating to promote adoption of the ECE Regulation. November 2005

  • Publication of the Year 2005 Edition of the Automobile Type Approval Handbook for Japanese Certification
    JASIC is pleased to announce that the Year 2005 Edition of the Automobile Type Approval Handbook for Japanese Certification (the "Blue Book") is scheduled to be finally published late November 2005 and would appreciate your consideration for purchase. This latest edition includes revisions of the Safety Regulations regarding theft-prevention devices, cornering lamps, etc. for which new ECE Regulations have been established, and of other related regulations such as announcements for specifying the rules of the Safety Regulations and test methods for new vehicles (TRIAS).

  • Report on the Forum of JASIC Invitation Program With Guests from China
    As the JASIC Invitation Program of fiscal 2005, five policy-making personnel from China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) were invited to a forum that was held on 7 September to discuss with them the current status and future prospects of the Chinese government's administration of automobile-related issues. With over 100 participants who are involved in JASIC's activities, the forum resulted in a greater mutual understanding through two speeches that were followed by a question and answer session. It was also confirmed that JASIC and CATARC would further strengthen their collaborative relationship in the future. Click here for the details of the forum.
