Report on the 3rd Asia Expert Meeting (Thailand)

1. Report on the 3rd Asia Expert Meeting
With strong interest in adoption of the ECE Regulation concerning braking, Thailand (DLT) expressed its intention, at the 9th JASIC Asia Government/Industry Meeting last year, to host an Asia Expert Meeting on braking systems. JASIC cooperated with DLT in their effort to organise the Asia Expert Meeting by sending braking experts to the Meeting.

In addition to the participants from the Thai government and industry, a total number of over 100 people attended the Meeting, including experts from Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Expert presentations and opinion exchanges took place covering a wide range of topics regarding the provisions, test methods, and certification procedures set forth in the ECE Regulation.

JASIC will continue to support Asian countries/economies for organising, as necessary, Asia Expert Meetings on the 1958 Agreement and/or ECE Regulations.
