1. Report on a Seminar Organised by Indonesia's Ministry of Industry
A seminar regarding the 1958 Agreement organised by Indonesia's Ministry of Industry (MOI) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 3 October 2005.

A few months earlier, in July, the MOI showed strong interest in the Asia Expert Meeting on the 1958 Agreement, which was co-organised by Indonesia's Directorate General of Land Communications (DGLC) and the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association, and thus decided to hold a seminar on the same subject as soon as possible. Japan cooperated with the Indonesian government's effort by sending the 1958 Agreement experts to the seminar. It was attended by about thirty MOI officials involved in administration and development of technical standards. The presentation by JASIC was followed by discussions covering a wide range of topics, including the details of the 1958 Agreement, WP.29 activities, and reciprocal recognition of approvals.

JASIC will continue to support countries/territories throughout Asia in organising Asia Expert Meetings on the 1958 Agreement and/or UN/ECE Regulations as necessary.
