3rd JASIC-India Forum Held in India

 

The 3rd JASIC-India Forum was held at the Park Hotel in New Delhi, India on 21 October 2010. The Forum was attended by 32 people from Japan and India. At the Forum, the presenters from MLIT and JASIC, representing Japan, reported Japan’s vehicle regulation harmonization activities at WP.29, IWVTA (International Whole Vehicle Type Approval) proposed by Japan at WP.29, recent revisions to the 1958 Agreement, JAPIA’s request regarding vehicle regulation harmonization in India, etc. Representatives of India reported the current status and future of India’s type approval process, its hopes for IWVTA, the current status of NATRiP (National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project) in India, recent activities towards adoption of ECE Regulations, etc. The Forum was concluded with agreement to hold the next Forum in Tokyo.
