JASIC held the ASEP Informal Meeting of the UN/ECE/WP29/GRB for three days from 11 to 13 June 2008. About 30 participants consisting of government representatives from the United States, Germany, Holland, Spain and the EU, automobile and tyre industry representatives from the United States and Europe and Japanese experts attended the meeting.

This meeting was the 11th of the ASEP Informal Meeting, in which deliberations have been made on additional test methods for higher engine speeds and loads of M1 and N1 vehicles that complement the acceleration noise test methods in the ECE R51 approved by the WP29 in 2006. In order to submit a draft to the GRB in the near future, the participants have been engaged in technical discussions on appropriate test methods, test conditions, etc., while analyzing the vehicle data from different countries.
