Global Technical Regulations Concerning Vehicle Safety and Environment (GTRs)

As the first of a series of Global Technical Regulations (GTRs) concerning vehicle safety and environment, which are to be established under the 1998 Agreement, Global Technical Regulation Concerning Door Locks and Door Retention Components was adopted at the 134th session of the World Forum for the Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP29) (Geneva, November 16-19, 2004).

Global Technical Regulation Concerning Door Locks and Door Retention Components is a technical standard that specifies strength and other requirements of door latches and hinges to help prevent passengers from being ejected completely or partially from their vehicles due to door openings during a crash.

JASIC has been actively involved in GTR drafting activities at WP29 by such means as sending representatives, mostly its Impact Absorption Subcommittee members, to the informal meetings, and is determined to continue its vigorous efforts in future activities for global harmonization of vehicle regulations.
